Intern - Vertical Product Engineer (VPE)

Role Summary

Intern in the Storage Technology and Products Group, Product Engineering team supporting NAND Flash, high-speed memory, and solid-state drive product engineering. The role executes a structured engineering project to analyze test coverage, yield, and failure mechanisms and to produce technical recommendations or prototype solutions.

Work under the guidance of experienced engineers; collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders. Projects may include circuit simulation, electrical failure analysis, data analytics, automation, or AI-enabled workflows to improve engineering processes.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for current undergraduate or graduate students or equivalent early-career candidates; no specific years of prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Contribute to a defined product-engineering project with measurable deliverables.

• Document test, qualification, and characterization requirements for an assigned NAND Flash, memory, or SSD product.
• Analyze test results, yield data, and electrical measurements to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
• Perform circuit simulations, yield evaluations, or electrical failure analyses under supervision.
• Develop or refine test coverage, screening methods, data-analysis scripts, or automated reporting for the assigned use case.
• Prototype an analytical script, dashboard, automation workflow, or AI-enabled solution to address the engineering challenge.
• Deliver a documented analysis, simulation or characterization results, and a final technical report and presentation.

Requirements

Core skills and attributes required for the internship (education expectations are listed separately below).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication and collaboration abilities.
• Understanding of CMOS device physics, circuit fundamentals, memory technology, or SSD architecture.
• Familiarity with circuit simulation, computer-aided design tools, test-flow architecture, and component- or system-level testing.
• Ability to commit to a full-time, on-site internship for approximately 5 months in Singapore.

Nice-to-have:

• Programming and data-analysis experience (Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
• Familiarity with machine learning, generative AI, large language models, or AI-assistant integrations for engineering workflows.
• Experience with electrical failure analysis or test-equipment/data workflows.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics, Data Science, or a related engineering discipline; equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
