Job Title
Intern - Validation Strategy AI/ML
Role Summary
The intern supports the Validation Strategy & Test Architecture team to explore and prototype AI/ML approaches that improve SSD validation productivity. The role works with Firmware and Product Test partners to translate strategic ideas into executable analyses and proof-of-concepts.
Work includes data analysis, documentation of requirements and handoffs, building small proofs-of-concept using logs/metrics/structured data, and communicating results to stakeholders.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include research, prototyping, and communication to support AI/ML validation initiatives.
- Prototype and evaluate AI/ML methods to accelerate triage, automate reporting, and improve workflow efficiency.
- Collect stakeholder requirements and help define inputs, outputs, success criteria, and measurable impact for initiatives.
- Produce documentation that clarifies ownership, handoffs, assumptions, and results between strategy and execution teams.
- Build small proofs-of-concept and analyses using engineering artifacts such as logs, metrics, and structured data; summarize findings for periodic updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present recommendations to partners.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities for the role.
- Proficient programming in Python and experience with libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn.
- Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, algorithms, model training, and evaluation techniques.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills grounded in mathematics and statistics.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative engineering teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Experience producing reproducible analyses and simple prototypes from engineering data (logs, metrics, structured data).
Nice-to-have:
