Intern Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Six-month onsite internship in Catania, Italy within the Performance Computing Power team. The role focuses on research and development of silicon validation automation for Power Management ICs, supporting test setup design and measurement automation.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. No prior professional experience required; duration six months.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the intern in this role:
- Design, develop, and optimize laboratory test setups for complex silicon evaluation.
- Develop automated validation frameworks and measurement scripts (Python preferred).
- Validate analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power management ICs against electrical, functional, and performance specifications.
- Perform data acquisition, statistical analysis, result correlation, and prepare detailed technical reports.
- Collaborate with Design, Applications, Firmware, Product, and Test engineering teams.
Requirements
Minimum skills and attributes expected from candidates:
- Proficiency with any programming language; Python is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of power management applications in consumer electronics.
- Able to read board-level analog and digital PCB schematics.
- Good communication skills and cross-cultural awareness for multisite collaboration.
- Excellent command of verbal and written English.
Education Requirements
Targeted at Master's-level candidates: MSc (Master's) in Electronic Engineering or closely related technical field; position intended to support a final graduation thesis. The posting does not mention alternative degree equivalence or certifications.
