Job Title
Intern - Test Solutions Engineer
Role Summary
Support process development, improvement, and qualification of first-of-a-kind equipment, software, and operations for backend test processes. Work with manufacturing, test engineering, process engineering, QA, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to integrate and qualify systems for high-volume manufacturing.
Use data analysis and AI-assisted tools to improve process decisions, quality, yield, and manufacturing efficiency.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Fresh graduates are encouraged; the posting also references a minimum of ~2 years' experience in backend equipment maintenance/engineering as a preferred qualification.
Responsibilities
Deliver process and equipment solutions across global manufacturing sites and support transfer into production.
- Coordinate integration and issue resolution between Test Key Equipment Group (KEG) and sites for new technologies.
- Lead and coordinate global continuous improvement and transfer of best-known methods (BKMs) across the manufacturing network.
- Manage projects from definition through first-of-kind (FOAK) deployment into high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
- Analyze manufacturing processes; develop and implement solutions to improve yield, quality, cycle time, and cost.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, mechanical form/fit/function, and material-interface requirements.
- Perform cost analysis and select cost-efficient mechanical/electrical/manufacturing solutions.
- Maintain Process of Record (POR), change management (CM), and perform FMEA and risk assessments.
- Mentor and collaborate with global peer groups to align and benchmark manufacturing performance.
- Develop process transfer packages, procedures, training, and documentation.
- Apply AI-enabled tools, generative AI, LLMs, and AI-assisted analytics to monitoring, reporting, risk assessments, and engineering workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for performing the role.
- Working, hands-on technical knowledge of backend manufacturing test handler equipment and processes.
- Practical understanding of equipment mechanical/electrical fundamentals, electronic circuits, infrastructure, mechanical function, and equipment reliability.
- Familiarity with equipment metrics such as utilization/OEE, MTTR, and MTBF.
- Knowledge of test process/test program interfaces and communication protocols (e.g., SEC/GEMS, GPIB, information systems).
- Experience with problem analysis and decision-making methods (8D, Total Process Control, structured problem solving).
- Proficiency with data analysis and risk tools: decision analysis, risk assessment, FMEA, and organizational change processes.
- Ability to manage projects and coordinate cross-functional teams for technology transfer into production.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to document procedures and train others.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience applying AI-assisted analytics, agentic AI, or digital engineering tools to engineering workflows.
- Prior experience in backend equipment maintenance/engineering (posting notes ~2 years preferred).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience and encourages fresh graduates.
