Intern: Software Engineer - Hardware Verification Systems

Role Summary

Join the HSV Software team (SVG group) in Belo Horizonte to support R&D on the Hardware Job Scheduler product used to manage emulation and prototype jobs. The role focuses on prototyping and integrating AI/LLM-based agents into verification workflows and collaborating with global product and engineering teams.

This is a product-focused internship with mentorship from the R&D team and hands-on development responsibilities.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current Bachelor's students or recent graduates; targeted graduation dates: December 2027 or June 2028.

Responsibilities

Primary tasks during the internship include:

  • Develop and experiment with LLM-based agents and modern frameworks to automate complex design verification workflows.
  • Integrate AI agents with enterprise platforms and product workflows.
  • Design and implement test suites to monitor agent behavior, detect hallucinations, and improve reliability.
  • Implement safety filters and human-in-the-loop mechanisms to ensure agents operate within business constraints.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team on features, testing, and validation of the Hardware Job Scheduler product.

Requirements

Key must-have and preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: Ability to work in person at Savassi, Belo Horizonte; availability for approximately 20 hours per week during the internship.
  • Nice-to-have: Interest in or basic experience with Python.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with prompt engineering, tool calling, tokenization for models, RAG pipelines, and vector databases.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with version control systems and solid fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
  • Nice-to-have: Verbal and written English communication skills.

Education Requirements

Ongoing bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or equivalent practical experience). Expected graduation: December 2027 or June 2028.
