Intern - Silicon Design Validation Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Intern - Silicon Design Validation Engineer
Role Summary
This is a full-time engineering internship in the Silicon Design Validation team in Singapore. The intern will develop practical skills in NAND silicon validation, Verilog simulation, measurement data collection, and engineering analysis while delivering a defined project under engineering guidance.
The project includes creating a customized validation plan for a selected NAND feature or circuit and developing Python- or AI-enabled workflows to improve validation data processing, anomaly detection, and report generation.
Experience Level
Internship / Entry-level. Targeted at students able to commit to a full-time 5-month internship (Jan–May 2027).
Responsibilities
Work on a supervised, project-based assignment to learn and apply silicon validation techniques and to prototype AI-enabled tooling.
- Study NAND flash operations and silicon validation roles.
- Perform Verilog-based simulations and interpret simulated circuit behavior.
- Develop a customized validation plan defining objectives, test conditions, data needs, and analysis criteria.
- Collect validation data using automated test equipment, oscilloscopes, and probe stations under guidance.
- Develop Python scripts or AI workflows for data processing, waveform anomaly detection, report generation, or workflow automation.
- Document results and present a final technical report summarizing methodology, results, and recommendations.
Requirements
Core technical skills and behaviors expected for successful completion of the internship.
Must-have:
- Foundational knowledge of digital electronics, semiconductor devices, circuit design, or computer architecture.
- Familiarity with Verilog or circuit simulation and basic electronic measurement equipment concepts.
- Programming experience in Python and interest in data analysis and visualization.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, technical documentation, and communication skills.
- Interest in applying Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or Large Language Models to engineering workflows.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with automated test equipment, oscilloscopes, or probe stations.
- Previous exposure to AI/agentic workflows, anomaly detection algorithms, or automation pipelines.
Education Requirements
Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; equivalent practical experience also acceptable.
