Job Title

Intern - Signal Integrity

Role Summary

The Signal Integrity (SI) Research & Development team supports electrical performance across Micron memory and storage products at die, package, PCB, and system levels. This internship supports analysis, modeling, measurement, and validation of high-speed memory interfaces and power distribution networks.

The intern will work with experienced engineers on modeling, simulation, lab measurements, and AI-enabled workflows to evaluate SI/PI performance, support product development, and contribute to methodology and standards efforts.

Experience Level

Entry-level (0–2 years of relevant experience, including internships, research, academic projects, or laboratory work).

Responsibilities

Support engineering activities across SI/PI analysis, modeling, measurement, and automation.

  • Perform signal and power integrity analysis using modeling, simulation, measurement, and correlation techniques.
  • Collaborate with silicon, package, product, validation, and system teams to ensure electrical performance through development stages.
  • Develop and evaluate die, package, PCB, and system-level models to identify risks and optimization opportunities.
  • Apply AI-enabled tools and automated workflows to improve analysis, reporting, and problem solving.
  • Contribute to methodology development, standards exploration, customer support, and documentation of technical findings.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience through internships, research, academic projects, laboratory work, or industry experience.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, transmission lines, high-speed interfaces, PCB design, or electromagnetic fundamentals.
  • Experience with electrical simulation, modeling, laboratory measurement techniques, or engineering analysis tools (gained via coursework, research, or projects).
  • Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, or similar) for automation and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication in multi-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools and agentic workflows to improve productivity, analysis, and technical evaluations.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with SI/PI commercial simulation and modeling tools, SerDes, memory interfaces, package and PCB design.
  • Knowledge of DRAM, LPDDR, HBM, NAND, SSD technologies and industry standards (JEDEC, ONFI, IBIS).
  • Experience developing automation solutions or engineering productivity tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
