Intern - Product Engineering, NAND Validation/Characterization
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Intern - Product Engineering, NAND Validation/Characterization
Role Summary
The intern will perform a structured engineering project within the NAND Validation and Characterization team to develop and execute validation and characterization tests for advanced NAND products. Work includes test development, failure investigation, data analysis, and automation under engineer supervision.
Tasks focus on using silicon and simulation platforms to evaluate NAND functionality, performance, timing, and power, and to produce documented test assets and a final project report.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship (students or recent graduates). Intended for candidates with academic or equivalent experience; requires a full-time 5-month commitment (Jan–May 2027).
Responsibilities
Project responsibilities include designing and executing validation activities, analyzing results, and delivering automation and documentation.
- Develop and run functional and design validation tests on silicon and simulation platforms.
- Create usage-case and random-sequence tests to evaluate NAND commands and product features.
- Investigate validation failures via log review, experiment design, root-cause analysis, and data analysis.
- Conduct performance, timing, and power characterization for defined NAND use cases.
- Develop or enhance automation scripts and engineering tools using Python, C/C++, Perl, or similar languages.
- Document test procedures, analysis, and present findings to engineering stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional attributes for completing the internship project.
- Basic understanding of digital design, semiconductor devices, computer architecture, or semiconductor testing.
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, C, or C++.
- Experience with data analysis and test automation workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to commit full-time for the internship period and deliver project artifacts (tests, automation, report).
- Nice-to-have: knowledge of Verilog or SystemVerilog; familiarity with AI-enabled data exploration or advanced visualization tools.
Education Requirements
Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
