Intern - PIE (Yield Enhancement)

Role Summary

This is a full-time engineering internship within Product Integration Engineering, Yield Enhancement at Micron's Fab 10N/X in Singapore. The intern will apply data analytics and introductory machine learning to semiconductor probe-test, electrical failure, and fabrication-process data to identify yield-improvement opportunities.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship (student intern). Intended for candidates with limited professional experience; suitable for current degree-seeking students.

Responsibilities

The intern will work under supervision to analyze manufacturing and test data and deliver a documented analysis and tools.

• Study probe-test principles, selected electrical failure modes, and yield metrics.
• Analyze relationships among electrical failures, probe-test results, fabrication-process metrics, and inline-monitoring data.
• Apply multivariate data analysis and visualization to identify patterns and correlations.
• Develop a Python-based analytical tool for the assigned yield-enhancement use case.
• Explore approved AI/Generative AI workflows for data exploration and documentation.
• Produce visualizations, a technical report, and a final presentation of methodology, results, limitations, and recommendations.

Requirements

Core skills and practical prerequisites for successful performance; items marked as "nice-to-have" are preferred but not required.

• Must-have: Basic understanding of data analysis, statistics, or engineering problem-solving.
• Must-have: Familiarity with Python programming and ability to work with data (analysis and visualization).
• Must-have: Strong willingness to learn and communicate technical findings clearly.
• Must-have: Availability to commit to a full-time internship of at least four months.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI concepts, or relevant data-analytics libraries.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with multivariate analysis, statistical methods, or manufacturing datasets.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a university degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering or analytics discipline (student intern status expected).
