Intern - NAND Product Engineering - Probe AI/ML
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Intern - NAND Product Engineering - Probe AI/ML
Role Summary
Full-time internship within Product Engineering focused on applying machine learning and agentic AI to semiconductor probe, wafer, test, and manufacturing data. The intern will work with Product Engineers and Data Science mentors to develop predictive models, agentic prototypes, and data pipelines for engineering workflows.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Candidates should be available for a full-time internship of at least five months (Jan–May 2027).
Responsibilities
Key project and day-to-day responsibilities include developing ML solutions and agentic AI prototypes, preparing engineering data, and communicating results to engineering stakeholders.
- Develop and evaluate predictive models for yield, reliability, test-time, or cycle-time improvements.
- Design and prototype agentic AI solutions for automation of engineering analysis and documentation.
- Prepare, clean, transform, and integrate high-volume probe/wafer/test/manufacturing datasets for ML workflows.
- Apply regression, decision-tree, ensemble, and boosting techniques; perform feature engineering and model validation.
- Document methods, limitations, and recommended next steps; present findings to the team.
- Explore integration concepts with engineering platforms such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes for successful participation in the project.
- Basic programming proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or scikit-learn.
- Understanding of core ML concepts: regression, decision trees, feature engineering, model validation, and performance evaluation.
- Analytical problem-solving, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a production engineering environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication and ability to collaborate across engineering and data-science teams.
- Able to commit to full-time internship period of at least five months (Jan–May 2027).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch for image, text, or log analysis.
- Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain) or platforms such as Microsoft Copilot Studio.
- Basic awareness of MLOps, model lifecycle, deployment, and monitoring; interest in cloud AI (Azure or AWS).
- Exposure to engineering data workflows and enterprise tools (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).
Education Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
