Job Title

Intern Mixed Signal IP

Role Summary

Internship with the Mixed-Signal IP R&D team in Sophia-Antipolis, France. The intern will investigate and design embedded analog/digital circuits to monitor process variation in advanced semiconductor nodes and benchmark candidate solutions.

Work combines circuit design, semiconductor physics, and hands-on use of mixed-signal tools to inform the Cadence Mixed-Signal IP product roadmap.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Suitable for students in their final year of a master’s degree or equivalent academic preparation.

Responsibilities

The intern will support R&D activities focused on process-monitor circuits and mixed-signal design. Key tasks include:

  • Review state-of-the-art process monitor circuits and survey analog/digital options.
  • Design, simulate, and benchmark candidate circuits in advanced technology nodes.
  • Analyze sensitivity to process variation and evaluate trade-offs (area, power, accuracy).
  • Use EDA tools for schematic, layout and simulation; document results and present findings to the team.
  • Contribute technical input to the Mixed-Signal IP product roadmap based on experimental results.

Requirements

Candidates should be available for a 6-month onsite internship starting early Q1 2027 in Sophia-Antipolis.

  • Must-have: Genuine interest in circuit design and semiconductor technology; problem-solving skills and ability to work in a research team.
  • Must-have: Availability for the full 6-month internship period, onsite in Sophia-Antipolis, France.
  • Nice-to-have: Some exposure to analog design EDA tools (for example, Cadence Virtuoso) or prior mixed-signal coursework/projects.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with transistor variability, process variation concepts, and basic analog/digital circuit blocks.

Education Requirements

Currently completing the final year of a master’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering (Master's). Field: electrical/electronic engineering. No alternative-equivalent-experience language specified.
