Job Title

Digital IP Design - Senior Lead Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for architecting and developing complex digital IPs and subsystems for automotive SoCs. The role is an individual contributor position working with global systems and SoC teams to deliver end-to-end designs from specification through implementation and integration.

Experience Level

Senior-level; typically 7–13 years of relevant experience in digital IP and subsystem design and architecture.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architect and design complex IPs and subsystems across protocols used in automotive domains (vision, radar), in-vehicle networks, gateway systems, and fail-safe (ASIL-D) subsystems.
  • Own IP/subsystem development from concept through design, verification, and integration to meet performance and schedule targets.
  • Ensure quality at all stages of IP development; analyze and improve processes to minimize defects.
  • Collaborate with global systems experts, SoC design functions, and verification teams to influence architecture and integration decisions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proven track record architecting and delivering complex digital IPs/subsystems.
  • Strong RTL and hardware design skills (Verilog and/or VHDL); scripting (Tcl, Perl) and C/C++ for hardware modeling.
  • Experience with high-speed serial protocols and associated PHY/controller issues (PCIe, USB, MIPI CSI/DSI) and external memory interfaces (DDR4/LPDDR4, QuadSPI).
  • Familiarity with microcontroller architecture, cache design, and bus protocols (AHB/AMBA/AXI).
  • Knowledge of IP development flow including CDC/RDC, synthesis, DFT/ATPG, and testbench/testplan development.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with automotive protocols (LIN, CAN, FlexRay) and fail-safe/ASIL-D subsystems.
  • Custom processor and DSP experience for vision/radar processing.
  • Pre-silicon validation using FPGA or emulation boards.
  • Experience working in multi-site/global teams.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
