Intern - F10 Process and Equipment Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Intern - F10 Process and Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
This is a full-time, paid internship within Advanced Device Technology and Systems, Process and Equipment Engineering (Wet Process) at Fab 10N/X in Singapore. The intern will perform structured characterization, data analysis, and guided experimentation to reduce defectivity, improve etch rate uniformity, and increase process robustness for wet etch operations.
The role involves learning wet-process fundamentals, evaluating process and equipment parameters, using data-driven methods and AI-enabled tools, and delivering technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship intended for current students pursuing an engineering or related technical degree. Typical internship duration is 5 months, full-time, starting January and running through May or June 2027.
Responsibilities
Key tasks and deliverables for the internship project include:
- Design and execute structured characterization studies of wet etch processes and equipment.
- Collect, clean, and analyze process data to identify defect trends, etch-rate behavior, and sources of variation.
- Evaluate the impact of recipe and equipment parameters on process outcomes and propose improvements.
- Develop qualification plans, success criteria, and project timelines for selected improvements.
- Use AI-enabled tools and assistants to accelerate data interpretation and engineering learning.
- Document evaluation results and compile a structured final report and presentation summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Participate in technical discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications for successful performance in this internship:
- Must-have: Curiosity and strong interest in semiconductor manufacturing and process engineering.
- Must-have: Foundational engineering knowledge and the ability to interpret technical data and apply statistical thinking.
- Must-have: Logical, analytical problem-solving skills and learning agility.
- Must-have: Ability to commit to a full-time, 5-month internship period (January to May/June 2027).
- Must-have: Effective written and verbal technical communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools, AI assistants, or AI-enabled workflows for data analysis and documentation.
Education Requirements
Candidate should be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or another related engineering/technical discipline. The posting expects academic coursework grounding in engineering fundamentals; explicit statements about equivalent experience were not provided.
