Role Summary

The intern will implement and enhance Genus core algorithms for technology mapping within the Genus team, focusing on improving performance and quality of results.

This is a full-time internship working with engineering teams to design, prototype, and evaluate algorithmic improvements for EDA tools.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. No specific years of experience required; suitable for current students or recent graduates.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Implement and improve technology-mapping algorithms in the Genus codebase.
• Design and prototype algorithmic changes and evaluate their impact.
• Develop, run, and interpret benchmarks and performance tests.
• Write clear, maintainable code and unit/integration tests.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate changes and resolve issues.
• Document findings and present results to the team.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills:

• Must-have: Strong programming skills in C/C++ or Python; solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Must-have: Good problem-solving and debugging skills; ability to work full-time during the internship.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with electronic design automation (EDA), logic synthesis, or technology mapping.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with performance benchmarking, parallel programming, or numerical optimization.
