This role is project-focused and intended for a student who will drive implementation tasks, validate AI recommendations, and produce reproducible scripts, methodology, and a roadbook of effective prompts and practices.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for final-year engineering or master’s students; no prior professional experience required beyond basic technical skills listed below.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities during the 6-month internship (starting Feb/Mar 2027):

  • Learn and run a complete digital RTL-to-GDSII implementation flow using InnoStack as the primary guide.
  • Generate and refine scripts, methodologies, and automation via AI-assisted interactions.
  • Execute and optimize implementation stages using Cadence EDA tools.
  • Analyze tool reports, diagnose issues, and resolve problems with InnoStack support.
  • Validate AI recommendations and deliver a fabrication-ready database.
  • Document best practices, effective prompts, limitations, and lessons learned in an InnoStack Experience Roadbook.
  • Produce a final assessment of InnoStack’s effectiveness and recommended methodology for junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and personal attributes.

  • Basic knowledge of digital IC design concepts, RTL, and Linux.
  • Practical scripting ability in Python and/or Tcl.
  • Strong interest in semiconductor design, EDA tools, and AI-assisted engineering.
  • Curious, autonomous, and able to learn complex technical workflows independently.
  • Analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills; able to work in a team.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to ASIC/digital implementation flows.
  • Experience with EDA tools and AI assistants.
  • Basic knowledge of physical design concepts.
  • Personal projects in semiconductors, AI, automation, or software development.

Education Requirements

Final-year Engineering student or Master’s student in Electronics, Microelectronics, or a related technical field (e.g., electrical engineering, computer engineering). The posting specifies academic enrollment at the final-year or master’s level; equivalent practical experience is not stated.
