Role Summary

The Interconnect Performance Verification and Emulation Engineer is a key member of the Infinity Fabric Architecture and Performance team, responsible for defining and delivering next-generation fabric interconnects that ensure efficient low-latency connectivity across AMD’s product lines. This role involves advanced hardware emulation and system-level performance verification for AMD’s memory systems.

Experience Level

Mid-level, ideally with several years of experience in hardware emulation and performance verification.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Performing RTL performance analysis and verification for the Infinity Fabric Interconnect.
  • Providing technical leadership and collaborating with architecture, design, and modeling teams.
  • Executing performance verification plans and supporting SoC-level performance debugging.
  • Driving emulation-based performance studies, including benchmarks.
  • Conducting analysis of memory system optimizations.
  • Debugging performance failures and proposing solutions.
  • Enhancing debug infrastructure and visualization solutions.
  • Utilizing AI-based tools to improve productivity and workflows.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience in RTL performance analysis using hardware emulation.
  • Hands-on experience with emulator setup and performance test case development.
  • Strong debugging experience across complex IP interactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of memory system architecture.
  • Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with C, C++, and scripting languages like Python or Perl.
  • Understanding of multiprocessor systems and cache architectures.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
