Interconnect Model Development/Support CAD Staff Engineer/Senior Engineer

Role Summary

As an interconnect modeling CAD engineer at Micron Technology, you will develop flows and methodologies for extracting and releasing interconnect models for EDA tools used in layout parasitic extraction. You will collaborate with the Scribe TEG team and external EDA vendors to optimize these processes and support Micron designers in tool usage.

Senior level position, with considerable experience in CAD environments and related technologies required.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and releasing interconnect models for parasitic extraction tools based on process technology information.
• Collaborating with global teams to gather information on interconnect stacks for model accuracy.
• Designing TEGs and developing methodologies for interconnect model calibration.
• Creating new flows for parasitic extraction and working with EDA vendors to refine these processes.
• Debugging EDA tool issues and collaborating with vendors for solutions.
• Providing support to Micron users of parasitic extraction tools and methodologies.

Requirements

Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge:

• Experience in chip design environments, particularly with schematic and layout design tools.
• Familiarity with layout parasitic extraction tools, such as Synopsys StarRC.
• Basic knowledge of semiconductor process technology.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python and Cadence SKILL; knowledge of Perl and C/C++ is an advantage.
• Experience using AI agents for various tasks.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A willingness to learn will be considered essential for candidates with limited experience.
