Interconnect Hardware Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Networking Silicon engineering team to design and validate test hardware and procedures for high-speed optical communication products. The role focuses on electrical specification, schematic and component selection, lab debug, and enabling robust mass-production test and yield improvements.

Experience Level

Mid-level — 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in digital circuits, power and high-speed design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to develop production-ready test solutions.
• Define electrical specifications, design schematics, select components, and address layout considerations for test platforms.
• Create test plans and coverage for current and future products.
• Perform hardware lab debugging to diagnose failures and validate fixes.
• Work with process teams to resolve test, yield, and quality issues after product release.
• Drive projects through full execution and document results.

Requirements

Must-have:

• 3+ years experience with digital circuits, power and high-speed design.
• Good understanding of product/test hardware, test software, and mechanical integration.
• Strong statistical and data analysis skills (JMP or similar tools).
• Proficient scripting skills and hands-on Python experience.
• Strong problem-solving, multitasking, prioritization, and project execution abilities.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills; effective team collaborator.

Nice-to-have:

• Background with electro-optical devices (lasers and detectors).
• Familiarity with high-speed fiber-optic products, power circuits, and filter design.
• Experience with IC lab measurements (source meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, optical power meter).
• Knowledge of DFT/DFM/DOE techniques and experience in electro-optical assembly lines.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
