Intel Foundry Product Yield Development Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Intel Foundry Product Yield Development Engineer
Role Summary
Work within Intel Foundry's Logic Technology Development organization to identify yield limiters and implement solutions that improve manufacturability and yield for leading-edge logic nodes. The role combines data analysis, statistical methods, and cross-functional execution to enable successful product ramps and process improvements.
Experience Level
Mid-level / experienced hire. Candidates are expected to have multiple years of relevant industry or research experience in semiconductor process and device analysis (typical experience range: 2β6+ years depending on background).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include working with process, design and factory teams to analyze data, find root causes, and implement yield improvements.
- Consolidate and analyze diverse fabrication, defect, and electrical data sources to characterize defect modes and yield trends.
- Perform statistical analysis, visualization, and yield modeling to guide process development roadmaps and milestones.
- Develop multivariate algorithms, AI/ML applications, and computational tools to identify root causes and recommend process or design changes.
- Collaborate with design teams on manufacturability and design-technology co-optimization prior to production ramps.
- Execute design of experiments, participate in factory task forces, and support new product introductions.
- Create measurement recipes and operational systems for rapid product feedback; work with equipment vendors and internal teams to harden solutions.
- Document technical procedures, train colleagues, and troubleshoot equipment, software, and process failures in production environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are noted.
- Must-have: Proven experience with advanced semiconductor devices, process flow, and yield analysis.
- Must-have: Strong skills in statistical analysis, data visualization, and coding for data extraction and analysis.
- Must-have: Experience developing algorithms or tools to identify root causes from multivariate data and recommend process changes.
- Must-have: Ability to collaborate across design, process, and manufacturing teams to resolve yield issues and support product ramps.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with AI/ML applied to manufacturing or design yield problems and building production-ready computational tools.
- Nice-to-have: Project or program management experience and a track record of working across matrixed organizations.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in a semiconductor-science-related STEM field (engineering, physical science, computer science, or related) with 2+ years' relevant experience, OR a Master's degree in a semiconductor-science-related STEM field with 4+ years' relevant experience. Fields referenced include engineering, physical science, and computer science. (No other degree or certification requirements were specified.)
