Job Title

Intel Foundry Advanced Device Development Engineering Manager

Role Summary

Lead a device engineering group within Logic Technology Development (LTD) to develop and deliver high-volume capable semiconductor process technologies for Intel and foundry customers. The role combines technical leadership, cross-functional program coordination, and management of engineering delivery to meet performance, yield, and reliability targets.

Experience Level

Senior - requires substantial industry experience. Typical background: Ph.D. with 10+ years in advanced-node semiconductor industry or Master’s with 15+ years (see Education Requirements for details).

Responsibilities

Contribute technical and managerial leadership to device development programs and ensure delivery of robust, manufacturable process technologies.

  • Lead and manage a team of device engineers, set priorities, develop staff, and manage performance.
  • Plan, design, execute, and analyze experiments to meet device/process specifications and transfer technology to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Perform physical and electrical data analysis and silicon-to-simulation correlation to validate models and PDKs for design enablement.
  • Define test structures and test programs to validate design rules and extract key device parameters.
  • Collaborate with integration, module, design/modeling, reliability, and foundry technology teams to meet customer performance targets.
  • Use statistics, data mining, and analytics to synthesize electrical-test, yield, and fab data and guide development decisions.
  • This position is a Position of Trust and requires consenting to and passing an extended background investigation where applicable.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, domain experience, and leadership ability required to execute the role.

  • Proven experience in the advanced-node semiconductor industry in one or more areas: semiconductor materials, fabrication, device physics, or electrical characterization of devices (transistor, diode, etc.).
  • Experience leading engineering teams or technical projects and working across program boundaries.
  • Strong electrical test and data-analysis skills; ability to correlate parametric data with process and device models.
  • Applied knowledge of statistical methods (SPC, DOE) for process development and yield improvement.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills with integration, reliability, and design teams.
  • Nice-to-have: test-structure design and layout, device/circuit simulation, database/analytics tools (JMP, MATLAB, Python, SQL, C/C++), scripting (Perl, TCL, JSL), machine learning, RAG/LLM orchestration and dataflow pipeline experience.

Education Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a scientific field directly related to semiconductors. Senior-level experience expectation: Ph.D. with 10+ years in the advanced-node semiconductor industry, or Master’s degree with 15+ years of relevant industry experience.
