Role Summary

Senior technical leader responsible for aligning technology development with business objectives, creating long‑term R&D plans, and optimizing new product design execution to accelerate commercialization and competitive advantage.

The role leads cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, business units, foundries and customers, drives technology roadmaps and market/competitive intelligence, and mentors engineers across the organization.

Experience Level

Senior — requires substantial industry experience. The posting specifies 10+ years of semiconductor device and industrial semiconductor technology experience and 10+ years in new product research and development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include strategic planning, portfolio decisions, cross‑functional leadership, and technology scouting.

• Align research and development goals with corporate strategy; prioritize products and technologies to pursue.
• Identify growth opportunities and competitive threats through market and competitive intelligence.
• Balance the R&D portfolio between near‑term product enhancements and long‑term, high‑risk innovations.
• Mitigate development risk by maximizing IP reuse across business units and product teams.
• Collaborate with business teams, foundries, and customers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Build company‑wide competence through mentorship, knowledge transfer, and team development.
• Monitor industry trends and evaluate disruptive technologies for potential adoption.
• Drive innovation, produce technical publications/white papers, and support patent generation.
• Improve time‑to‑market and efficiency of new product design and commercialization.

• 10+ years of experience with semiconductor devices and industrial semiconductor technologies.
• 10+ years of experience across new product research and development.
• Proven leadership track record in driving technical innovation and delivering results.
• Strong analytical skills to assess engineering and business value, and to evaluate risk.
• Ability to judge applicability of new technologies and make strategic recommendations.
• Experience handling diversified activities, resolving conflicting requirements, and prioritizing work.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, customer interaction, and networking skills.
• Demonstrated accountability for deliverables and a focus on reducing time to market.
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to adapt interaction style across teams.
• Nice‑to‑have: experience producing publications, white papers, and obtaining patents.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, or a related technical field is specified.
