Job Title

IC Designer, Analog Mixed-Signal ASICs

Role Summary

Design and deliver analog and mixed-signal ASICs for optoelectronic transceivers and sensor products. Join a multidisciplinary R&D team in Vienna responsible for schematic and layout, verification, characterization and test development across the full product lifecycle.

Work supports industrial, medical, automotive and aerospace applications.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” several years of relevant ASIC design experience (years not specified).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include schematic and layout design, integration, and project ownership:

  • Collaborate with analog and digital designers to develop mixed-signal ASICs and functional blocks.
  • Develop analog and mixed-signal blocks and assemble mixed-signal hierarchies.
  • Deliver complete schematic and layout for ASICs and own product lifecycle and project management.
  • Define ASIC specifications, perform chip characterization, validation and test development.
  • Specify and implement IC blocks and interfaces for wafer/module-level testing (design for test).
  • Establish or improve simulation tools and processes for mixed-signal design and reliability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Proven expertise in analog integrated circuit design at schematic and layout levels.
  • Expertise in ASIC simulation, verification methods, parasitic extraction and performance verification.
  • Experience managing the full ASIC design cycle: specification, fabrication, characterization, qualification, and testing.
  • Experience with integrated optical detectors (e.g., SiPMs, APDs, PIN photodiodes) is required.
  • Strong verbal and written English; willingness to learn and communicate in German.
  • Independent, precise working style with strong collaboration and technical communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Digital design and layout knowledge, design-for-test (DFT), PCB measurement setups, measurement equipment up to 10 GHz, deeper semiconductor-physics expertise for optical detectors.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics and Photonics, Telecommunications, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field. Several years of relevant industry experience are expected.
