IC Design Technical Lead
Role Summary
Lead a team of IC design engineers responsible for end-to-end development of motion control sensor ASICs. Own technical architecture, design delivery, and lifecycle support from design through customer trials and field issues.
Experience Level
Senior level. Minimum of 15 years relevant experience with at least 5 years in technical management or people/technical leadership roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing IC design engineering team.
- Define and oversee technical architecture and design strategy for motion control sensor ASICs.
- Manage full lifecycle project execution, including scheduling, tape-out coordination, and delivery of ASIC milestones.
- Own post-silicon activities: customer trials, field issue resolution, and product sustainability.
- Collaborate with Optics, Magnetic, Mechanical, Electrical, and Manufacturing teams to integrate and validate designs.
- Communicate technical status and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and customers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools experience, and leadership attributes.
- Minimum 15 years relevant IC/ASIC experience with at least 5 years of technical management experience.
- Deep expertise in ASIC process flow covering analog, digital, and layout design.
- Experience with industry EDA tools (examples: Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics).
- Experience with foundry fabrication processes and electrical wafer sort (EWS).
- Independent problem-solver with proven project management skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education Requirements
PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
