IC Design Engineer (DFT)
BroadcomJob Title
IC Design Engineer (DFT)
Role Summary
Work on design-for-test (DFT) implementation and verification for ASIC projects, collaborating with internal and external teams across RTL, synthesis, timing verification, simulation, test insertion, and ATE support. The role focuses on defining chip-level DFT architecture and delivering DFT infrastructure for advanced-node designs (including 5nm/3nm).
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience: 5+ years in DFT or related ASIC design/test roles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include DFT architecture, implementation, verification, and test support.
- Participate in chip-level DFT architecture definition.
- Implement DFT schemes: scan, boundary scan, MBIST, logic BIST, and SSN.
- Verify DFT logic and test patterns using simulation.
- Perform static timing analysis for test modes.
- Support ATE bring-up and debug DFT patterns on ATE.
- Support vector generation and post-prototype test debugging.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience below. Preferred items are noted where applicable.
- 5+ years of relevant ASIC/DFT experience.
- Strong understanding of DFT methodologies: BIST, SCAN, JTAG, ATPG.
- Familiarity with Mentor and Synopsys DFT flows and tools.
- Experience developing constraints for synthesis and static timing analysis (STA).
- Experience with multi-mode, multi-corner STA and sign-off checks.
- Preferred: experience with ATE bring-up, vector generation, and advanced-node (5nm/3nm) designs.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree. Preferred: MS in Microelectronics or a related discipline. (The posting specifies either a Bachelor or Master degree is required and notes MS preferred; related technical fields are acceptable.)
