HW SoC/IP Modeling and Performance/Power Analyst — Senior/Staff Engineer
QualcommJob Title
HW SoC/IP Modeling and Performance/Power Analyst — Senior/Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm Interconnect Technology Center (QITC) in France to model complex SoC and IP designs and analyze on-chip network performance and power. The role focuses on developing and running HW models, identifying performance/power bottlenecks, and proposing architecture and methodology improvements.
The position is embedded in an ASIC/NoC engineering team that supports SoC interconnect design, prototyping, and delivery across Qualcomm product lines.
Experience Level
Senior-level (preferred 4–6+ years in microelectronics or related ASIC/SoC experience; the team will consider equivalent practical experience).
Responsibilities
Analyze and model SoC/IP behavior, evaluate architecture efficiency, and support deployment of interconnect solutions.
- Develop and maintain HW models at various abstraction levels using C/C++/SystemC and related languages/tools.
- Perform performance and power analysis of on-chip communication networks (NoC/bus) and identify bottlenecks.
- Analyze complex data patterns, root-cause issues, and propose architecture or implementation changes.
- Contribute to prototyping methodology and toolchain improvements for faster validation and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IP, CPU/GPU, memory, validation) and communicate technical findings clearly.
Requirements
Key technical skills and professional requirements (must-haves listed first; nice-to-haves indicated).
- Practical experience with ASIC/SoC/IP modeling, verification, validation, or integration.
- Proficient programming in C/C++; experience with SystemC is highly desirable.
- Experience with Python and data libraries (Pandas, NumPy) for data analysis and tooling.
- Knowledge of computer networks, bus protocols, CPU/GPU and memory architectures, and ISA concepts.
- Experience with version control and build tools: Git, shell scripting, make/CMake.
- Familiarity with HDL (VHDL or Verilog) is useful for cross-validation with hardware models.
- Strong data-analytics and performance/power analysis skills; ability to interpret metrics and recommend solutions.
- Ability to work in multicultural teams; technical proficiency in English required, French recommended.
Education Requirements
Degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field: Bachelor's (with ~2+ years ASIC/SoC experience), Master's (with ~1+ year experience), or PhD. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
