Job Title
HSIO Bench Test Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Post-Silicon Engineering team developing test solutions for highly integrated SoCs. Responsible for defining and executing test methodologies and characterization for high-speed interfaces and related subsystems.
Work includes silicon bring-up and debug, electrical compliance verification, parametric data analysis across operating conditions, and collaboration with IC design, systems engineering, and customer teams to resolve time-sensitive issues.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting prefers 3+ years of relevant experience but welcomes fresh graduates.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include test definition, characterization, bring-up, and debugging for high-speed interfaces and memory subsystems.
- Define and execute test methodologies and characterization plans for SERDES interfaces (PCIe, USB3, UFS, DP, MIPI) and PLLs.
- Characterize LPDDR/PC-DDR subsystems (DRAM, controller, PHY) and other interface IP blocks; analyze parametric performance over conditions and configurations.
- Perform first-silicon bring-up, debug electrical compliance and signal/power-integrity issues related to package and board designs.
- Develop and run lab validation and automated test procedures; use and maintain bench equipment for measurements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IC design, systems, customer engineering, hardware applications) to resolve RMAs and customer issues.
- Analyze test results, document findings, and recommend design or test adjustments.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for performing the job; preferred items listed separately.
- Experience with post-silicon validation, silicon bring-up, or hardware debug in a semiconductor environment.
- Knowledge of VLSI technologies, CMOS analog/digital circuits, mixed-signal design, and semiconductor device behavior.
- Practical skills in signal integrity and jitter analysis, eye-diagram interpretation, and high-speed differential signaling.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and produce clear technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills; able to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with SERDES characterization/validation and transmitter/receiver design blocks.
- Familiarity with DDR2/3/4/5 and LPDDR timing, device specs, and subsystem validation.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, TDR/VNA, J-BERT) and test automation using Python or C#.
- Board design familiarity (schematics, layout best practices) and ASIC device-level characterization experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred. The posting indicates fresh graduates are welcome while 3+ years of related experience is preferred.
