Job Title

High Volume Manufacturing Engineer (Staff/Principal)

Role Summary

Senior product engineer in Arm's Product Engineering team responsible for defining and driving high-volume manufacturing (HVM) flow at OSATs, covering ATE and SLT test, yield, characterization and reliability for advanced packaging and sub-3nm nodes.

The role partners cross-functionally with Architecture, SoC Design, Validation, Test, System, Software and Quality teams to move products from pre-silicon readiness through post-silicon bring-up and HVM.

Experience Level

Senior (Staff/Principal). The role requires extensive experience; the source specifies a minimum of 16 years in product engineering and manufacturing-related roles.

Responsibilities

Core operational and technical responsibilities for preparing and executing manufacturing flows and improving product yield and quality.

  • Align with line-of-business and architecture teams to interpret product requirements for manufacturing.
  • Own pre- and post-silicon manufacturing operations across product engineering, coordinating design, packaging, software, silicon validation, test and quality.
  • Act as the primary product engineering contact for cross-functional collaborators and external partners (OSATs).
  • Drive execution of manufacturing flows at OSATs during high-volume production (ATE and SLT).
  • Lead yield enhancement and characterization methodology development, including integrated sensor frameworks and mitigation strategies.
  • Own post-silicon manufacturing test flow, yield improvement, reliability qualification, PVTF characterization and electrical failure analysis on ATE/SLT.
  • Support silicon and package reliability qualification and electrical failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with partners to improve yield and characterization; share findings with multi-functional teams.
  • Travel up to approximately 20% internationally for company and partner meetings.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience required to perform the role.

Must-have:

  • Extensive product engineering experience in manufacturing test, yield improvement, silicon characterization and reliability qualification.
  • Broad expertise in structural and functional test and DFT/software diagnostics (scan, BIST, sensors, ATE functional, SLT diagnostics such as SVOS/SDC).
  • Strong understanding of device physics, digital/mixed-signal design, foundry and assembly processes, and CPU/GPU/SoC power-performance interactions.
  • Proficiency with IC data analysis tools and workflows (examples: Silicon.da/Optimal+, JMP) and ability to use/produce data-parsing scripts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; proactive initiative in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in SoC design and/or DFT engineering.
  • Specific experience in yield analysis methodologies.
  • Software scripting skills relevant to data analysis and automation.

Education Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. The posting explicitly lists these degree levels and fields; no other certifications or alternative-equivalent statements were provided in the source.
