Job Title

HBM Media Health Product Engineer (DFT)

Role Summary

Join the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) Media Health team to develop, deploy, and optimize test strategies for Micron's HBM DRAM products. You will partner with Fab, Yield Improvement, Design, and Test engineering to validate device performance across wafer, burn-in, and ATE test stages.

The role focuses on test program development, debug, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination to ensure product yield and performance.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires around 3 years of experience in DRAM or memory testing and product/test engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test development, debugging, and cross-team technical support.

  • Develop and validate DFT circuits and test modes with Design Engineering; run pre-silicon simulations and report design issues.
  • Define tester resources and test strategies for probe (wafer), burn-in, and ATE stages.
  • Debug test programs, analyze test data, and identify root causes using electrical and physical analysis techniques.
  • Support Process Integration and Yield Enhancement through DOE and data analysis focused on test impact to yield and quality.
  • Monitor yields, investigate deviations from projections, and drive corrective actions.
  • Automate routine engineering tasks and improve test flows using scripting and AI-augmented tools.
  • Provide technical training and act as a product-specific point of contact for cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for effective performance in this role.

  • Minimum ~3 years hands-on experience with DRAM or other memory testing (qualification requirement moved to Education section).
  • Experience with test program debug and test development for probe, burn-in, and ATE.
  • Ability to analyze test data and perform electrical/physical failure analysis to find root causes.
  • Familiarity with DFT concepts, test modes, and pre-silicon validation workflows.
  • Scripting and automation skills; ability to automate tasks and reporting using scripts and AI-augmented tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for cross-team coordination.

Nice-to-have:

  • Programming experience in C, C++, and Python.
  • Linux environment and command-line experience.
  • Understanding of semiconductor fabrication, defectivity, marginality, and degradation mechanisms.
  • Basic analog and digital circuit understanding and familiarity with AI engineering tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required; Master's degree preferred. The posting specifies ~3 years of experience in DRAM or memory testing as an acceptable equivalent to degree requirements.
