Job Title
HBM Hardware Emulation Architect - SMTS
Role Summary
Architect and deploy hardware emulation capabilities for next-generation HBM products. Collaborate with design, verification, firmware, and system teams to enable pre-silicon validation, firmware bring-up, and early software development.
Experience Level
Senior-level role. The posting requests 15+ years of relevant engineering or design engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building and operating emulation environments, enabling system-level validation, and supporting project milestones such as tapeout and bring-up.
- Develop and maintain hardware emulation environments for complex SoCs and subsystems.
- Compile, configure, and debug large-scale RTL designs on emulation platforms (e.g., Palladium, Veloce, Zebu).
- Support pre-silicon validation, firmware bring-up, and early software development using emulation.
- Debug functional, performance, and connectivity issues across RTL, firmware, and system layers.
- Create emulation testbenches, transactors, and models for system-level use cases.
- Enable hybrid validation flows (simulation + emulation + FPGA prototyping as needed).
- Provide hands-on support during key project milestones (tapeout, bring-up, customer enablement).
- Drive procurement and integration of emulation platforms and develop emulation-friendly verification IP.
- Lead integration of AI-driven tools and AI-enabled workflows into verification and emulation methodologies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 15+ years of relevant engineering or design engineering experience.
- Strong experience with RTL design and debug.
- Hands-on experience developing emulation platforms for complex GPU/CPU and memory systems.
- Experience debugging full-chip or subsystem-level designs.
- Solid understanding of SoC architecture, interconnects, and IP integration.
- Familiarity with firmware or low-level software interaction with hardware.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of degree.
