Hardware Verification Test Manager

Role Summary

The Hardware Verification Test Manager leads a team focused on hardware validation and testing within Synopsys’ Hardware-Assisted Verification (HAPS/ZeBu) business unit. This role involves overseeing the implementation of testing strategies and ensuring product quality throughout the development process.

Experience Level

Senior; requires 10+ years in hardware/system validation or test engineering and 3–5 years in a management or technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

The Hardware Verification Test Manager is responsible for:

• Implementing system-level test strategies for HAV platforms (HAPS, ZeBu).
• Defining and executing test plans for new product introductions and feature releases.
• Leading the manufacturing validation of FPGA-based prototyping systems and board-level hardware.
• Managing test equipment deployment and final assembly test for firmware.
• Driving root cause analysis for system failures and ensuring corrective actions.
• Building and mentoring a high-performing test engineering team.
• Establishing scalable test methodologies and automation frameworks.
• Partnering with cross-functional teams to support customer escalations.
• Owning test schedules and resource allocation across multiple programs.
• Managing external test development and fixture suppliers.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in hardware/system validation or test engineering.
• 3–5 years in an engineering management or technical leadership role.
• Strong background in FPGA-based systems and integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
• Proficiency in Linux-based development and automation frameworks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Experience managing distributed teams is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
