Role Summary

12-week, full-time internship on NVIDIA's hardware verification teams. Interns execute verification projects that contribute measurable results to GPU/processor validation and design quality.

Work includes developing and running verification environments, debugging failures, and collaborating with engineering teams to validate hardware and firmware designs.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for university students. Typical assignment duration is 12 weeks, full-time during the internship period.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities during the internship include:

• Design, implement and run verification environments and testbenches.
• Write directed and random tests and develop functional coverage models.
• Perform simulation and formal verification; analyze and debug failures using industry tools.
• Collaborate with designers, validation engineers, and software teams to reproduce and resolve issues.
• Document test plans, results, and verification status; communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to automation and infrastructure to improve verification productivity.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience expected for applicants.

• Must-have: Hands-on familiarity with digital design and verification concepts (e.g., SystemVerilog, UVM, functional coverage, test plan creation).
• Experience with simulation and debug tools (examples: Questa, Verdi, DVE) and basic formal verification exposure (tools such as JasperGold).
• Ability to write and debug tests using scripting/programming languages (Python, Perl, TCL, C/C++).
• Knowledge of CPU/GPU architecture or computer architecture concepts and validation strategies.
• Comfort working in Linux-based environments and using common verification workflows.
• Nice-to-have: Prior internship or project experience in GPU/processor verification, assertion-based verification (ABV), or experience with random functional testing.

Education Requirements

Actively enrolled in a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Applicants must remain enrolled for the full duration of the internship and clearly indicate anticipated graduation month and year on their resume/CV.

Compensation: intern hourly rate range listed by employer: 20 USD - 71 USD per hour.
