Job Title
Digital IP Senior Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Define and execute functional verification strategy and implementation for digital IP or sub-system level. Work with product architects and design teams to ensure IP meets specifications through simulation, assertions, and formal methods.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 5 years of IP or SoC design or verification experience (as stated in the posting).
Responsibilities
Primary verification duties expected for this role:
- Define and write IP verification plans derived from requirements, standards, and IP architecture.
- Develop stimulus in SystemVerilog/UVM: random scenarios, algorithmic and directed testcases.
- Write SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and coverage properties aligned to the verification plan.
- Implement UVM monitors, drivers, response checkers and SVAs; maintain testbench components and scripts.
- Debug failing testcases to identify root cause (tool, test, checker, RTL) and track fixes.
- Collect and analyze code and functional coverage from random simulations; plan additional tests to close coverage gaps.
- Perform assertion-based formal verification on blocks and IPs.
- Use AI tools to augment and accelerate verification work products.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; plus items listed as beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years experience in IP or SoC design or verification.
- Strong Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM coding skills.
- Proven verification skills: test planning, testbench development, simulation, and debug.
- Ability to work independently and in small teams without close supervision.
- Proficiency in using AI effectively to augment generation of work products.
- Nice-to-have: programming in Python, C/C++, Perl, TCL; RTL design, synthesis experience; knowledge of static and formal checkers.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with ARM AMBA protocols.
Education Requirements
Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (BSEE / BSCE / BSCS). Master’s degrees in EE/CE/CS (MSEE / MSCE / MSCS) are listed as a plus. No certifications or explicit equivalent-experience language provided.
