Hardware Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Qualcomm's Hexagon DSP AI team in Cork to verify processor, DSP, AI accelerator, and system-level hardware designs. Work with verification, design, and architecture engineers to ensure functional correctness and high-quality silicon.

Experience Level

Entry-level - 0-3 years of relevant experience (new graduates and candidates with internship or university project experience encouraged to apply).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification of digital designs, testbench development, and debugging.

• Develop and maintain testbench components using SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
• Create and execute directed, constrained-random, and coverage-driven verification test cases.
• Analyze simulation results and debug functional issues in collaboration with senior engineers.
• Collect and analyze functional and code coverage metrics to drive verification closure.
• Contribute to verification automation, scripting, and infrastructure improvements.
• Participate in design reviews, verification reviews, and team technical discussions.
• Work closely with design and architecture teams to understand specifications and verification requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Academic or internship experience with digital design concepts and RTL development.
• Exposure to SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL, or similar hardware description languages.
• Basic understanding of computer architecture, microprocessors, and digital logic design.
• Familiarity with simulation and debugging tools.
• Programming or scripting experience in C, C++, Python, or similar languages.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with UVM methodologies and verification concepts such as functional coverage and assertions.
• Knowledge of CPU, DSP, GPU, AI accelerator, or SoC architectures.
• Experience using Linux-based development environments.
• Internship, university project, or research experience related to digital design or verification.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BSc/BS/BE) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline - or equivalent practical experience. Internship and university project experience relevant to digital design/verification are acceptable.
