Job Title
Hardware Test Engineer - Silicon Validation
Role Summary
Lead and operate global hardware farm infrastructure used for silicon validation. The role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and global coordination to ensure reliable test systems across the silicon validation lifecycle.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting indicates professional experience in the hardware/silicon domain; typical candidates have around 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include operating and improving large-scale hardware farms, driving debug and automation, and coordinating across global validation teams.
- Operate and maintain a large hardware farm of GPU, SoC, and CPU systems; perform hardware and software debug across PCBs, voltage regulators, OS, drivers, and firmware.
- Build and maintain regression and diagnostic infrastructure, author test plans, sanity checks, and scalable regression scripts.
- Coordinate with global farm and silicon validation teams to ensure system availability and drive issues to closure.
- Partner with farm development and location PICs to improve processes and infrastructure based on debug findings.
- Design and implement automated monitoring, alerting, and performance analytics to detect and resolve farm issues in real time.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and behaviors for the role.
- Strong knowledge of motherboard platforms, SoCs, PC hardware components, and network connectivity.
- Proficiency with Linux OS internals and scripting (Python; experience with Perl and TCL is useful).
- Experience debugging hardware and firmware issues across PCBs, regulators, drivers, and OS-level failures.
- Experience building regression suites, diagnostics, and automation that scale across product lines.
- Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills for cross-site and cross-discipline collaboration.
- Ability to lead critical debugs and drive issues to closure with the right technical resources.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity using AI tools to support debugging, log analysis, test-plan generation, and automation workflows.
Education Requirements
B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or equivalent practical experience; equivalent practical experience is explicitly acceptable.
