Hardware/Equipment Install Engineer

Role Summary

Field engineer responsible for installing, integrating, supporting, and maintaining Synopsys hardware at customer sites. Works with hardware engineering, manufacturing, and customer support teams to diagnose failures, implement corrective actions, and ensure quality.

Experience Level

Mid-level - candidate is expected to have approximately 5+ years of relevant test/validation or hardware installation experience.

Responsibilities

Primary on-site and customer-facing duties:

• Install Synopsys hardware at customer sites domestically and internationally.
• Integrate boards into systems: prepare chassis, mount mechanical parts, and wire cabling.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering and manufacturing to analyze failures and define corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of hardware activities and provide periodic reports to management.
• Work with manufacturing teams to review and improve production processes and product quality.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers to aid product adoption and usability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes; a few reasonable preferences.

• Must-have: Minimum of 5 years of experience in test, validation, or hardware installation/maintenance at customer sites.
• Must-have: Proficiency with Linux environments and shell scripting (bash, tcsh).
• Must-have: Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting hardware issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Must-have: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support customer sites.
• Nice-to-have: Experience working directly with manufacturing teams on production quality and hardware reliability.
• Nice-to-have: Prior customer-facing field support or technical guidance experience.
