Hardware Engineer, Silicon Power & Productization
NVIDIAJob Title
Hardware Engineer, Silicon Power & Productization
Role Summary
Work on NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Productization team to take new silicon from pre-silicon planning through bring-up, characterization, and production. The role focuses on silicon power and performance productization, power/performance modelling, controller tuning, and system-level optimization across silicon, board, firmware, and software.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires 3+ years of relevant experience in silicon bring-up, characterization, validation, or productization.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include driving productization activities and translating engineering work into production-ready solutions.
- Drive silicon power productization from pre-silicon planning through bring-up and production, including test strategy, feature readiness, characterization, and optimization.
- Partner with architecture and design teams to identify improvements and validate features for production readiness.
- Characterize and tune controller behavior across workloads, operating conditions, silicon variation, and product power/thermal limits.
- Build power and performance models and characterization methodologies to inform silicon binning, specifications, and productization decisions.
- Use data-driven methods, including AI/ML, to analyze characterization and telemetry data, detect anomalies and trends, and accelerate debug across silicon, board, firmware, and software.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 3+ years of proven experience in silicon bring-up, characterization, validation, productization, or a related hardware field.
- Practical understanding of silicon power and performance factors: process technology, voltage, frequency, workloads, and operating conditions.
- Experience with system-level hardware debugging and cross-domain interactions (silicon, board hardware, firmware, software).
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills; able to convert measurements into hypotheses and design experiments.
- Nice-to-have: experience with power modelling, silicon binning, power controllers, device physics, power delivery, Windows/Linux bring-up, or applying AI/ML to engineering analytics and debug workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.
