Job Title

Hardware Design Validation Engineer - Memory Subsystem - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's System Product Team to validate and tune GPU memory subsystems from initial silicon bring-up through production. The role combines hands-on hardware bring-up, signal integrity debugging, board-level analysis, and firmware/software interaction across cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level / New college graduate. Typical background: 0–3 years of relevant experience; the posting expects ~2+ years including internships, co-ops, or research projects.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include debugging, validation, and enabling memory features on NVIDIA platforms.

  • Plan and execute DDR memory tuning, validation, and feature enablement.
  • Review silicon design specs, component datasheets, board schematics, and layouts to guide validation and bring-up.
  • Debug and resolve controller, memory, board, and firmware/software issues across product lifecycle stages.
  • Collaborate with silicon, board, and firmware teams to refine memory bring-up and validation strategies.
  • Perform hands-on measurements and use instruments during bring-up and characterization.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and behaviors for successful performance in this role.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, or research projects.
  • Understanding of high-speed signal integrity and hands-on experience using oscilloscopes.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and board design.
  • Working knowledge of PC systems, Windows, and Linux.
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering and first-principles problem solving.
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming (C, C++, Java, Python, or Perl).
  • Ability to work effectively across teams and time zones in a collaborative environment.
  • Genuine curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience as a tutor or teaching assistant in an engineering/technical subject.
  • Strong presentation skills for cross-functional audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with memory subsystem design or validation.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Recent graduates are the target audience; equivalent experience (internships, co-ops, research) is explicitly accepted.
