Hardware Board Design Senior Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Lead board and package design for Marvell switch products within the SIE group, delivering solutions that meet signal/power integrity, performance, and cost targets. Collaborate with hardware, system, and test engineers, and coordinate with ODM partners through architecture, layout, tape-out, and post-manufacturing bring-up.
Eligible to participate in Marvell's bonus and equity plans.

Responsibilities
Accountable for end-to-end board design and delivery for complex, high-density switch platforms.
- Drive product definition and system design for evaluation and test with hardware, systems, and electrical test teams.
- Architect board and package solutions addressing SI/PI, power, thermal, and mechanical constraints.
- Select components, produce schematics, manage board layout, and lead board bring-up and validation.
- Lead post-silicon board bring-up and coordinate design changes with device teams.
- Manage relationships with ODM partners and guide their implementation of the design.
- Provide system-level inputs for device definitions and interface across functional groups to meet requirements.
- Lead and mentor small design teams to meet deliverables and schedules.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, practical experience, and constraints for the role.
- 10+ years designing high-speed digital or analog circuitry on complex, high-density PCB assemblies (Ethernet switches, microcontrollers, processors).
- Proven experience leading small teams of design engineers to complete board design deliverables.
- 5+ years working with ODMs on board development and production.
- 5+ years designing high-density boards with fine-pitch components and dense interconnects.
- Expertise in high-speed interfaces and SERDES (DDR4, PCIe Gen3/Gen4/Gen5, 10G–200G Ethernet) and related SI/PI practices.
- Good knowledge of power supply design and hands-on lab measurement experience for signal and power integrity.
- Familiarity with Cadence Allegro schematics and layout tools.
- Understanding of mechanical and thermal considerations in board design.
- Must be eligible to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. citizens may be subject to export license review prior to employment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with medium- to high-end CPUs on platform designs.
- Extensive experience with PCIe Gen5 or other very high speed interfaces beyond listed minima.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required; the posting specifies a BS in Electrical Engineering plus 10+ years of related experience.
