Job Title

Graphics System-on-Chip Engineer (ASIC/SoC)

Role Summary

Multiple ASIC/SoC engineering roles on the Graphics SoC team in Tijuana covering RTL/architecture, verification, physical design, and systems/infrastructure. Team focus is development of high-performance, low-power SoCs for compute, AI, mobile and automotive products.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience; roles are for experienced engineers rather than entry-only or explicitly senior-only positions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary by specialization; representative responsibilities across advertised roles include:

  • Architect and implement ASIC/SoC RTL and micro-architectures.
  • Develop and maintain synthesis constraints, perform static timing analysis, and drive timing closure.
  • Design and execute verification plans using SystemVerilog/UVM, directed and constrained-random tests, assertions, and coverage-driven verification.
  • Perform full physical implementation: floorplanning, power planning, placement, CTS, routing, and sign-off activities.
  • Integrate IP, support emulation/acceleration, silicon bring-up, and debug pre- and post-silicon issues.
  • Build engineering infrastructure: FPGA prototyping, automation tools, emulation flows, and test platforms.
  • Develop low-power and multi-voltage design methodologies and automation to improve productivity.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and desirable skills. Degree requirements are listed separately under Education Requirements.

  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with RTL design (Verilog/SystemVerilog), synthesis flows, timing closure/STA, and common EDA tools.
  • Must-have: Verification experience with SystemVerilog/UVM, testbench development, assertions, and coverage-driven verification.
  • Must-have: Experience with physical design steps (floorplan, placement, CTS, routing) for advanced-node SoCs for candidates applying to physical design roles.
  • Must-have: Debug skills for pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up, including FPGA prototyping, emulation, and failure analysis for systems/infrastructure roles.
  • Nice-to-have: Low-power/multi-voltage design experience, automation/tool development, and familiarity with signal integrity, crosstalk, and power sign-off.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience applying automation or AI-assisted solutions to verification or design flows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science). The posting specifies a Bachelor's degree as a minimum qualification.
