Graduate Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's Solution Engineering division as a verification engineer responsible for developing testbenches, test suites and verification infrastructure for IP and subsystem features across Enterprise, Automotive and Client markets.

The role works closely with design teams to review microarchitectural specifications, debug issues, and ensure delivered silicon meets functional and coverage targets.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Graduate. Role suited to recent graduates or engineers at the start of their verification career.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities include:

  • Write test plans and implement functional verification to meet quality and schedule targets.
  • Develop and maintain testbenches and automated test suites for subsystems and SoCs.
  • Collaborate with design and verification teams to review specifications and debug issues.
  • Implement IP features that support reconfigurable designs and system integration.
  • Contribute to cross-team solutions and act as a partner to other engineering teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Experience in verification stages: test plan creation, testbench implementation, test case development, documentation and support.
  • Familiarity with front-end verification tools and flows such as dynamic/static simulation, UPF, and debuggers; experience with tools like Questa, VCS, JasperGold, Verdi.
  • Knowledge of coverage types: functional, toggle, and code coverage.
  • Experience with reconfigurable IP or subsystem design and subsystem-level verification.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills working across design and verification teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Object-oriented programming concepts and scripting (Perl, Python, or similar).
  • Familiarity with ARM-based designs and ARM system architectures.
  • Experience with OTP/fuse usage models, JTAG/TAP protocols, SoC debug methodologies.
  • DFT methodologies: RTL testability, scan insertion, OCC.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field is required.
