Role Summary
Entry-level role on Intel's System-on-a-Chip (SoC) front-end team focused on pre-silicon design validation and verification for client SoC products. The position contributes to design, simulation, debugging, and automation efforts to ensure functional correctness and delivery quality.
The role is on a multi-disciplinary SoC development team collaborating with architects, micro-architects, and design groups to validate integrated IP and system-level behavior.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Suitable for new graduates or candidates with 0β1 years of hands-on experience gained via internships, academic projects, coursework, or training. Master's graduates with no prior professional experience are also eligible.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include verification, simulation, debugging, and automation for SoC and IP integration.
- Develop pre-silicon functional validation strategies, test plans, and methodologies for SoC/chipset designs.
- Collaborate with architects, micro-architects, and design teams on technical readiness and validation approaches.
- Design and execute simulations to verify functionality and performance of integrated IPs and SoC systems.
- Debug complex issues at IP and SoC levels to support timely delivery of high-quality systems.
- Implement automation to streamline verification flows and improve efficiency.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications and test plans.
- Contribute to improving validation methodologies and processes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills for immediate contribution; preferred skills listed separately.
- Must-have: Proficiency in hardware description languages (e.g., Verilog or VHDL).
- Fundamental understanding of digital design principles, simulation, and verification methodologies.
- Experience with programming/scripting (Python, Shell scripting).
- Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools (for example ModelSim or Synopsys VCS).
- Ability to debug at IP and system levels and analyze complex technical issues.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of computer architecture or related subsystems; exposure to FPGA/emulation debug or low-level system debugging; strong analytical problem-solving skills; eagerness to learn and adapt.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is expected; a Master's in those fields is acceptable with no prior professional experience.
