Job Title

Graduate ML Hardware Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level graduate role on a hardware verification team focused on neural accelerators for machine learning. The role combines software development and hardware testing to find design issues before silicon.

Work with verification and design engineers to convert specifications into tests, build simulation testbenches, analyse coverage, investigate failures and develop automation to improve verification flows.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Graduate). Suitable for recent university graduates or students completing a degree; no specific years of prior industry experience required.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Translate specifications into verification tests and test plans.
  • Develop and run simulation testbenches and interpret results.
  • Investigate failures, debug complex system behaviour and report findings clearly.
  • Analyse coverage data to identify untested behaviour and extend tests accordingly.
  • Develop tools and automation to improve verification productivity and reliability.
  • Collaborate with international teams and share verification techniques and learnings.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

  • Practical programming ability; write clear, reliable code (e.g., Python, C/C++ or similar).
  • Curiosity about digital hardware and eagerness to learn hardware verification techniques.
  • Analytical problem-solving and debugging skills; able to investigate unexpected behaviour methodically.
  • Good written and verbal communication; able to document findings and discuss issues with engineers.

Nice-to-have (not required):

  • Experience with digital hardware or a hardware description language (e.g., Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog) from coursework or projects.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming and software frameworks.
  • Understanding of computer architecture concepts.
  • Exposure to verification methodologies, simulation tools or coverage analysis.

Education Requirements

Applicants should hold, or be on track to hold by the programme start date, a university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field. An academic transcript is requested with the application.
