Job Title
GPU Software Development Engineer
Role Summary
Work on validation, tooling, and AI-driven automation for Intel GPU graphics drivers and related software across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases. The role focuses on building scalable automated tests, debugging driver and system issues, and applying GenAI techniques to test content and tooling.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (OS, BIOS, hardware, customer engineering, and graphics software) to deliver performant, power-efficient, and debuggable hardware/software solutions. This position is eligible for a hybrid work model.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting specifies either a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 7+ years of software development or validation experience.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Define validation strategy and create test plans for GPU drivers and system software.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated tests and scalable test frameworks for kernel-mode drivers, memory managers, virtualization, and compute/display workloads.
- Develop tools and AI/ML solutions to automate validation and accelerate debugging and triage.
- Perform validation across pre-silicon emulation/simulation and post-silicon platforms, including functionality, power, performance, and debuggability checks.
- Drive issue resolution and debugging across hardware and software stacks, working with firmware, OS, and hardware teams.
- Analyze test data, document findings, and communicate results to engineering stakeholders across geographies.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- Hands-on programming experience in C/C++ and scripting with Python.
- Proven experience defining validation strategies, developing automated tests, and driving debug to resolution.
- Understanding of Generative AI and LLMs and experience applying them to information retrieval or automation workflows.
- Strong experience with graphics drivers, GPU hardware, and low-level GPU programming.
- Experience working on systems-level hardware/software product development teams.
- Strong technical attention to detail, data analysis, documentation, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across distributed teams and learn quickly.
Nice-to-have:
- Kernel-mode driver development experience (power management, memory management, scheduler, virtualization).
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to structured and unstructured data and using LLM fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, PEFT), RAG, prompt engineering, and agentic/skill-based workflow automation.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of software development or validation experience, or Master's degree with 7+ years of software development or validation experience.
