GPU Senior Logic Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
GPU Senior Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement RTL for Media IP within the Media Hardware Engineering team. Deliver complete IP blocks, participate in microarchitecture definition, and ensure designs meet integration and verification requirements.
Work includes feature feasibility studies, PPA (power, performance, area) optimization, unit-level verification, and collaboration with SoC integrators and verification teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting specifies 8+ years of industry experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a Master's degree in a relevant field.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on RTL development, verification, and optimization for media encoder/decoder IP.
- Define microarchitecture and implement RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog) for Media IP components.
- Develop libraries, functional units, and complete IP blocks for chip integration.
- Perform PPA and timing optimization to meet implementation goals.
- Drive unit-level verification, review verification plans, and resolve failing RTL tests.
- Develop behavioral models in C or Perl to support RTL verification.
- Conduct feature feasibility studies and performance analysis based on requirements.
- Support SoC customers during integration and debug microarchitecture/hardware simulations.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to aid specification development, RTL generation, and verification collateral.
Requirements
Key technical requirements and preferred skills.
- Must-have: Strong RTL design and logic development experience using SystemVerilog/Verilog; experience with logic verification, synthesis, and timing analysis tools.
- Must-have: Proficiency in C, Perl, and Python for modeling and verification support.
- Must-have: Experience with power, performance, area, and timing optimization and microarchitecture debugging.
- Must-have: Experience using AI-assisted ASIC design and verification tools.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of video codec standards (H.264, HEVC, VP8/9, AV1, VVC) and media encoder/decoder design experience.
- Nice-to-have: Advanced verification methodology expertise and strong collaboration and communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of industry experience in RTL design; OR Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of industry experience in RTL design.
