GPU (RTL) Design - Senior Engineer
QualcommJob Title
GPU (RTL) Design - Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for RTL design and integration of GPU-related ASIC blocks within the ASICS Engineering team in Bangalore. Deliver RTL implementations for complex multi-clock-domain blocks, collaborate with verification and validation teams, and support pre- and post-silicon debug and bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior - title indicates senior level. Posting specifies 2β4 years of ASIC RTL design experience; minimum qualifications list Bachelor's +3 years / Master's +2 years / PhD +1 year of relevant hardware engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, integration, and debug of GPU RTL blocks and ensuring timing and power targets are met.
- Design and implement RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for complex blocks and multi-clock domains.
- Integrate IP and handle asynchronous interfaces between clock domains.
- Implement and verify AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and clock/reset/debug architecture.
- Collaborate with design verification and validation teams for pre- and post-silicon debug.
- Work with synthesis, timing closure, and static timing analysis workflows.
- Use ASIC flows and tools for linting, CDC checking, synthesis (Design Compiler), and timing analysis (PrimeTime).
- Support low-power design techniques and implementation as required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong RTL coding skills in Verilog/SystemVerilog and solid understanding of logic design and micro-architecture.
- Hands-on experience with multi-clock designs and asynchronous interfaces; experience with clock domain crossing (CDC).
- Familiarity with synthesis and timing concepts for ASIC (timing closure, constraints).
- Experience with ASIC toolchain components: lint, CDC tools, synthesis (Design Compiler), and timing (PrimeTime).
- Knowledge of AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and clock/reset architecture.
- Nice-to-have: understanding of memory controller designs and microprocessors; prior low-power design experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 2+ years' experience; OR PhD with 1+ year of experience. Fields listed: Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering.
