GPU RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver low-power, high-performance GPU RTL for Apple silicon. Work on micro-architectural specification, RTL implementation, and collaboration across architecture, validation, modeling, and physical design teams.

Responsibilities
Deliver RTL and micro-architecture that meet performance, power, timing, and area targets while collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Develop and optimize GPU RTL (SystemVerilog) for power and performance.
- Explore micro-architectural trade-offs and contribute to specification and design decisions.
- Work with validation, modeling, synthesis, and physical design teams to achieve timing and area goals.
- Drive bring-up and debug of complex GPU designs.
- Perform hardware performance analysis and timing optimization.
- Create scripts and tools to automate analysis and verification tasks.
- Document designs and communicate status and trade-offs to cross-functional partners.
Requirements
Key technical skills and capabilities required and preferred for the role.
Must-have:
- Expert knowledge of SystemVerilog HDL and RTL design practices.
- Strong logic design skills with knowledge of low-power techniques and timing optimizations.
- Experience with synthesis tools, timing analysis, and the PNR flow.
- Ability to drive bring-up and debug of complex hardware designs.
- Hardware performance analysis experience.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, or Perl).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work under aggressive schedules.
Nice-to-have:
- Background in GPU, CPU, or SIMD architectures.
- Experience designing GPU schedulers, execution units, texture/pixel units, or caches.
Education Requirements
