Job Title

GPU PCIe and Boot Architect - New College Grad 2027

Role Summary

Design the architecture and infrastructure for GPU boot, PCIe/CXL enumeration, and capability discovery as a member of the GPU architecture team. Collaborate with hardware, software, and verification teams to define features and validate their implementation.

This role produces functional and performance models (often in C++), defines test plans, and supports post-silicon validation for next-generation GPUs.

Experience Level

Entry-level / New college graduate (recent BS or MS recipients) or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Architect boot flows, PCIe/CXL enumeration, and capability discovery for GPU subsystems.
  • Understand and document interactions between GPU sub-system modules and overall system behavior.
  • Plan features and coordinate implementation with software, hardware, and verification teams across locations.
  • Create functional and performance models (commonly in C++), and develop test plans to validate designs.
  • Support post-silicon bring-up and validation activities, including diagnostics and performance validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items follow.

Must-have:

  • Strong proficiency in C++; prior project or internship experience preferred.
  • Experience with hardware-software interactions and system-level behavior.
  • Experience building software models, diagnostic tests, and directed functional and performance tests.
  • Ability to write test plans and participate in validation activities.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of advanced interconnects (PCIe, AXI, NVLink, or similar).
  • Experience with scripting languages (for example, Perl or Python).
  • Familiarity with modern security constructs and encryption.
  • Knowledge of RISC-V architecture and microcode development.

Education Requirements

Pursuing or recently completed a BS or MS in Computer Architecture, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant coursework includes computer architecture, operating systems, and system architecture.
