RTL Design Jobs, Level - Mid-Career

Job Title

GPU Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement RTL for GPU functional units and IP blocks, and integrate those blocks into system-on-chip (SoC) designs. Work with architecture, verification, physical implementation, and SoC teams to meet power, performance, area, and timing targets.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience expectations by degree: Bachelor's +4 years, Master's +3 years, or PhD +6 months in RTL/logic design; equivalent industry experience considered.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RTL design, verification and integration of GPU logic, and optimization for implementation targets.

  • Develop RTL using SystemVerilog for GPU IP blocks and functional units.
  • Perform power, performance, area, and timing (PPA) optimization during physical implementation.
  • Contribute to architecture and microarchitecture definition for GPU blocks.
  • Execute unit-level verification, debug failing RTL tests, and resolve design issues.
  • Apply formal equivalence verification (FEV) to ensure design fidelity.
  • Collaborate with SoC customers and integration teams to ensure high-quality chip integration.
  • Produce technical documentation and drive microarchitecture-level enhancements.

Requirements

Core technical requirements (education summarized separately below).

  • Proven RTL design and logic development experience using SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with RTL verification, debugging, and unit-level testing.
  • Experience optimizing designs for power, performance, area, and timing.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams for SoC integration and validation.

Preferred:

  • Low-power design techniques and UPF coding/debugging.
  • Static timing analysis and formal equivalence verification (FEV).
  • Understanding of GPU architecture and microarchitecture fundamentals.
  • TCL scripting for design automation.
  • Experience with power and performance validation and debugging in large-scale GPU designs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Minimum experience expectations stated by degree: Bachelor's +4 years, Master's +3 years, PhD +6 months. Equivalent industry experience may be accepted.
