Job Title

GPU Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

The GPU Logic Design Engineer designs and implements RTL for GPU IP blocks and supports their integration into SoC designs. The role focuses on microarchitecture/logic design, RTL coding, verification, and optimization to meet power, performance, area, and timing targets.

Experience Level

Mid-level. See Education Requirements for detailed years-of-experience guidance by degree; applicants should have practical RTL/logic design experience and verification/debug skills.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include implementation, verification, and integration of GPU logic and collaborating with architecture and SoC teams.

  • Develop and maintain RTL (SystemVerilog) for GPU functional units and IP blocks.
  • Optimize logic for power, performance, area, and timing targets during implementation.
  • Define and contribute to architecture and microarchitecture features for GPU blocks.
  • Perform unit-level verification, debug failing RTL tests, and resolve design issues across verification hierarchies.
  • Apply formal equivalence verification (FEV) to ensure design correctness across stages.
  • Collaborate with SoC teams to integrate GPU blocks into full-chip designs and support system-level validation.
  • Drive microarchitecture enhancements and produce technical documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred skills listed under Nice-to-have.

  • Must-have: Proven RTL design and logic development experience with strong SystemVerilog skills.
  • Must-have: Experience in verification and debugging of RTL and hardware simulations.
  • Must-have: Experience with PPA (power, performance, area) optimization and practical timing-aware design practices.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with formal equivalence verification and SoC integration workflows.
  • Nice-to-have: Low-power design experience (UPF), static timing analysis expertise, and power/performance validation in large GPU designs.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of GPU architecture fundamentals, TCL scripting for automation, and advanced microarchitecture validation methodologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Degree requirements provided as alternatives: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant RTL/logic design experience; OR Master's in a related field with 3+ years; OR PhD in a related field with 6+ months of experience. Requirements may also be met through a combination of industry experience, internships, coursework, or equivalent practical experience.
