GPU Design Verification Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
GPU Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Perform functional verification of GPU graphics components (3D graphics, media, display) to ensure designs meet specifications. Work on IP-level and system-level verification, testbench architecture, simulation, and debug within a hybrid engineering team.
Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and physical design teams to verify functionality, performance, and power targets and to improve verification methodology and infrastructure.
Experience Level
Level - Mid-Career. The role expects mid-level verification engineers; typical experience aligns with the education requirements (roughly 4β6 years of relevant verification experience).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and executing verification for graphics IP and subsystems.
- Define and develop scalable, reusable IP verification plans, testbenches, and verification architecture.
- Execute verification plans and run system simulations to verify designs, analyze power and timing, and identify bugs.
- Replicate, root-cause, and debug issues in the pre-silicon environment and implement corrective measures.
- Develop coverage-driven tests and drive coverage closure at the IP level.
- Collaborate with GPU architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams; document test plans and lead technical reviews.
- Maintain and improve verification infrastructure, methodology, and related TFMs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience; preferred items are listed separately.
- Must-have: Testbench bring-up at IP level and strong SystemVerilog and UVM programming skills.
- Must-have: Hands-on verification experience working on ASIC, CPU, or GPU designs.
- Must-have: Test plan development at IP level and experience with coverage-driven verification and functional test writing.
- Must-have: Functional modeling, test writing, and practical debug/root-cause experience in pre-silicon environments.
- Nice-to-have: Understanding of graphics architecture and experience with frontend design/verification flows, tools, and methodology.
- Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (shell, Perl, Python).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electronics, computer engineering, or a related engineering field with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree in electronics, computer engineering, or a related engineering field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
